History:

The city of Marysville was founded by an Irish immigrant James Purcell Comeford in 1872 as a trading post. In 1877, a wharf and store were built by James in the city which he later sold in 1884 to settlers Henry B. Myers and Mark Swinnerton. In 1883, the first hotel was constructed in the city and in 1891, Marysville was incorporated.
