Located in west-central Washington, Auburn city lies just 10 miles east of the Puget Sound. The majority of the Auburn city lies in King County, a little portion also lies in Pierce County. A suburb in the Seattle metropolitan area, it is the15th largest city in Washington State. The European settlers first arrived in the area in the 1850s but had to leave because of Indian wars only to return in the 1860s.
