This is a city that is located in the county of Snohomish, Washington. Lake Stevens fondly got its name from the lake it is built in. It is to the north of the Snohomish city and had an estimated population of 31679 as of 2016.

History

The Lake Stevens area was first settled in 1886. The lake is believed to have been named after Governor Isaac I. Stevens. By 1890, this areas first town, ‘Ferry’ had already been established. This was later changed to ‘Hartford’. In 1905, a railroad was established and it linked Hartford with Lake Stevens. This was followed by the establishment of the ‘World’s largest sawmill’ which later burnt twice and ended its existence. This city was incorporated in November 1960.

Lake Stevens has a total area of 8.90 square miles. Out of this, 8.88 square miles is covered by land while the rest 0.02 square miles is covered by water.
