Marysville is a city that has its location in the Snohomish County, Washington. This city is located north of Seattle, approximately 35 miles on the North. As a result, it forms part of the Seattle Metropolitan Area. Additionally, this city is the second largest in the county coming after Everett. It had an approximated population of 60020 as of the 2010 census.

History

This city was established by a government-appointed Indian agent known as James Comeford. Together with his wife, they established a trading post on the Tulalip Indian Reservation on the modern Marysville area. During the 1860’s to 1870’s, this areas main active industry was the timber industry. By 1879, a post office and a school district had already been established. Although the city took off as a bedroom community, it has flourished over the years to become a unique place for businesses as well as for residence.

Area

Marysville is located in the northwestern part of the Snohomish County. It has a total area of 20.94 square miles according to the United States Census Bureau. However, only 20.68 square miles is covered by land while 0.26 square miles is covered by water. This city’s skyline is beautified by Mount Pilchuck and the Cascade Mountains.
