Oak Harbor is a beautiful city that is located in Island County, Washington. As at the 2010 census, this city’s population had an estimated population of 22075. This city boasts of being Whidbey Island’s largest incorporated city. It was incorporated in May 1915.

History

‘Oak Harbor’ came about as a result of the numerous Garry Oak trees that grew and still grow in the area. Businesses and houses came up mainly along the shores of the harbor as many people in the past mainly depended on water transport. The arrival of the Irish people in the area made the city grow since they introduced fishing and farming in the area.

This city has a total area of 9.47 square miles according to the United States Census Bureau. Out of this total, 9.42 square miles is covered by land while 0.05 square miles is covered by water. On the map, this city is located on coordinates 48°17′42″N 122°39′31″W.
