Rudd, AR, also known as Piney is an unincorporated community in southern Carroll County, Arkansas, United States.

An unincorporated area is a region that is not governed by a local municipal corporation. Widespread unincorporated communities and areas are a distinguishing feature of the United States and Canada.Rudd is located among mountain peaks along Piney Creek on Arkansas Highway 103. Piney Creek is a stream in South Carroll County and is a tributary of the Kings River. It was so named because of the pine timber along its course. To the southeast of Rudd lies the town of Gobbler and to the northwest is situated Melton.

This South Carroll County town was originally known as “Piney”. Levi W. Johnson served as the first postmaster of the Piney Post Office when it opened on December 31, 1873. The Post Office would close and re-open several times before Dr. M. Rudd took on the role of postmaster in 1890. On June 30, 1892, the Piney Post Office became the Rudd Post Office. The Rudd family later relocated to Springville, Arizona.

The local Rudd grocery store was later owned and operated by Jim Wilson and Jennie Belle, who also ran the post office for 25 years. The Rudd Post Office closed on January 31, 1957, when mail service was transferred to Connor, Arkansas. The community also has its school. Other early settlers in the Rudd community included Joe and Elly Smith.

Various events are held by the residents of Rudd, mainly at the Barryville Public Library. These include Family Movie Night, Preschool Storytime, and more.
