Naperville is a city in DuPage and Will counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is located within the Chicago metro area and lies about 45 km west of the city.

Naperville was founded in 1831 by Joseph Naper on the banks of the DuPage River and was originally known as Naper’s Settlement. By 1832, about 100 residents had settled in this area. However, in 1839, DuPage County was split from Cook County and Naperville became the county seat and remained so until 1868.

The huge growth of Chicago’s urban sprawl beginning in the 1960s led to a significant increase in the population of Naperville. As of the 2020 census, its population was 149,540, making it the state’s fourth-most populous city. Around 4,500 people work in the Edward Hospital alone, making it the biggest employer in Naperville.

For visitors to Naperville, one of the must-visit places is the Moser Tower and Millennium Carillon. The 158-foot-tall Moser Tower is just north of Aurora Avenue and west of Downtown Napervilleat the base of Rotary Hill. The Millennium Carillon is designated as one of the four largest carillons in the world, with 72 bronze bells each weighing between 10 pounds to the massive 6-ton “Captain Joseph Naper Bell”. The Carillon was dedicated to the city as an Independence Day event on June 29, 2000.

Another sightseeing spot is the Naperville Riverwalk in the Park District. It is 2.82 kmlong, runs along the West Branch of the DuPage River, and consists of brick paths, fountains, and covered bridges. Additionally, the Riverwalk features art pieces, and several restaurants.

Naperville is served by Xfinity Comcast Internet Services with download speeds ranging from 300 to 900 Mbps depending on the plan chosen by the user. The service provider also offers an exclusive XFI device that boosts the Wi-Fi performance. Residents have a wide range of Internet-related products to choose from.
