Sprnigfield is part of Hampden County in Massachusetts. The city sits on the banks of Connecticut River, and was founded in 1636, later it was the site of Springfield armory. New York city is also 2.5 hours drive away from Springfield.

Weather in Springfield is classified as continental; summers can be hot and humid, winters are cold, it does snow here. Though it is a big city, the average one way commute  time in Springfield is only 21 minutes. Most residents drive their own cars to work. The costs of housing, utilities, groceries, and transportation are affordable compared to other big cities. The best part of living here is access to the best education in America; 5 colleges for higher learning are within the city limits.

Springfield is a nice city to live in, but some consider it quite overpopulated – if that is a concern one should consider living in nearby towns and suburbs.
