Superior is a city located in the state of Wisconsin, United States. It is the county seat of Douglas County. This city is served by the Richard I. Bong Airport. Superior is also home to the popular public university, named as, University of Wisconsin – Superior (UWS).
History:
The city of Superior was incorporated in 1854. In the same year, Douglas County became its county seat. After some time, ‘Where Sail Meets Rail’ became the slogan of the city. In 1883, the Land and River Improvement Company was established by General John H. Hammond. During that period, some lumber, grain, and coal businesses were also started in the city.
