The county seat of Bedford County in Pennsylvania, Bedford is a borough that was incorporated in 1795. The history of the town in intertwined with the Whiskey Tax Rebellion that occurred in the last decade of 18th Century primarily in western regions of the state of Pennsylvania during the George Washington administration.
