History:
The city of Buckeye was founded in 1888. It was initially named as Sidney but due to the Buckeye Canal importance, the city was renamed to Buckeye. In 1925, the Buckeye Union High School A-Wing was opened in this city and in 2009, it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1929, Buckeye was incorporated and Hugh M. Watson became the first mayor of this city who was the founder of the Buckeye Valley Bank.
