Butler is a city located in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. It is the county seat of Butler County. There are several famous festivals or events occur every year in this city like The Butler Fall Festival, Butler Road Race, and Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival.
History:
The city of Butler was settled in 1802 and was named after Continental Army Officer Richard Butler. In 1816, Butler was incorporated as a borough. In 1828, the Senator Walter Lowrie Shaw House was built and in 1885, the Butler County Courthouse was built in Butler. These both places were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1918, it was incorporated as a city. In 1941, Butler Little Theatre was established and in 2012, Hobnob Theatre Company was established in the city.
