A remarkably beautiful and peaceful city with serene surroundings, the city of Castle Rock is located within the Cowlitz County in the state of Washington, United States. Located within the Willapa Hills and the western base of Mount St. Helens, Castle Rock is located in the middle of the Pacific temperate rain forest, the Washington timber country. Since it is a part of the Longview Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area, Castle Rock holds a lot of strategic importance. Said to be first settled somewhere in the year 1832, Castle Rock gets its named from the volcanic rock outcropping over the Cowlitz River known as “The Rock” that is as high as 190 feet on the south side of the city and became a geographic landmark that resembles a castle.
