HISTORY
The city of Davenport was first settled back in 1880 and was named after resident J.C. Davenport in 1982. On December 15, 1896, it was made the county seat of Lincoln County. This was right after an election had decided to opt for Davenport over then-seat Sprague, which was destroyed in a fire, as well as Harrington.

Davenport is located at 47°39′4″N 118°9′6″W (47.651157, -118.151627).
The United States Census Bureau states that the city has a total area of 1.82 square miles (4.71 km2), all of it land.
