Frederick, formerly known as McKissick is a Statutory Town in Weld County, Colorado, United States.It was renamed when the daughters of Frederick A. Clark, a landowner, laid out the townsite in 1907 and named itafter their father. The oldtown of Frederick began as a coal mining town attracting many immigrants from several Slavic countries, France, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Latin America.However,the Frederick Coal Mine was closed in 1928.
