Goldendale Washington (98620-9304) in Klickitat County in the state of Washington is a rural agricultural city. It has an area of 2.52 square miles. The last census that was done in Goldendale in the year 2010 recorded 3,407 people, 1,462 household and 858 families who live in Goldendale. This was a decrease from the previous census that recorded a total population of 3,760 people. The town was christened as Goldendale by an early inhabitant by the name John Golden in 1872 although the name was officially adopted seven years later on November 14th, 1879.

Over the years, Goldendale has been serving as a banking center, a business hub and a commercial center thus being a source of employment to many. It also hosts the county’s court as well as other government offices. In the recent years, the city has suffered economically as a result of closure of an aluminum plant that rendered many people jobless. This means that taxes collected by the government have gone down.

Goldendale has been a site for a number of total eclipses that have attracted attention nationally. Many people converge at the town to view the total eclipse. This boosts tourism in the region Goldendale Washington has a small population thus making it an ideal place for stargazing. Goldendale was the host of the international Gravity Sports Association christened ‘The festival of speed’. Goldendale’s downtown features the Presby Museum that features the Russell steam tractor of 1898 that has been newly restored.
