Ash Flat is located in both Fulton and Sharp counties in Arkansas. Located 130 miles north-northeast of Little Rocks, Ash Flats has a population of a little more than 1,100. Founded in 1856, Ash Flat was named for a grove of Ash Trees near the original town site, and covers a total of 6.1 square miles. In 1967, the Arkansas General Assembly Designated Ash Flat at the county seat of Sharp County Arkansas.
Ash Flat Arkansas offers its residents all the advantages of living in a small town with the amenities of a big city living. If you love the great outdoors, then Ash Flat is a great place to stay or visit. It lies close to Strawberry and Spring Rivers, which attract anglers keen on landing rock bass and pan fish. The Harold E. Alexander Spring River Wildlife Management Area covers more than 13,000 acres and is open to hunting enthusiasts looking to bag deer, rabbit, and wild hog. A local attraction that is popular among tourist and citizens alike is the Sharp County American Veteran’s Memorial. This monument is impressive with the names of many servicemen and women memorialized in brick and bronze statues, commemorative of some of America’s toughest times. The monument is complete with Sherman Tanks, Howitzer and Civil War Cannon, making the monument a must see for everyone!
