Owatonna Minnesota (55060-1960) is the county seat of Steele County. Owatonna was first settled around the Straight River in 1854, was later incorporated as a town in 1858 and eventually as a city on February 23, 1865. This 14.62 square mile city boast a population of 25,599 residents as of the 2010 census.

This city is an economic nerve center of Southern Minnesota—Federated Insurance, Bosch, and Lowe’s are some of the big-name employers in Owatonna. Besides being an economic hub for Minnesota, Owatonna’s location at the crossing of Highway 14 and Highway 218 and proximity to Interstate 35 make it an attractive and easily accessible residential location.
