Located in Cache County towards the northern edge of the state of Utah, the city of Logan is home to a population of roughly 50, 000 people. The town was founded in 1859 by followers of Brigham Young, and named after a local fur trapper from the region. Most of Logan’s businesses and major buildings are located centrally, at the intersection of Main Street and Center Street, including the majority of its historical landmarks. Such landmarks include the Logan Tabernacle, a Church of Latter Day Saints that took over 25 years to build, with construction beginning in 1864. Tourists often visit the site to view its impressive Great Organ, originally installed in 1908.
Other sites include the Logan Utah Temple, a variety of stately houses located in Logan’s Historic District and documented on the National Registrar of Historic Places, and Utah State University. Beyond visiting various building sites, the town offers plenty of opportunities to explore nature. The most well known of these include the Wind Caves Hiking Trail, Hardware Ranch, Beaver Mountain, First Dam, and Zootah at Willow Park. The Logan River Golf Course, Cache County Fairgrounds, and Logan Aquatic Centre are examples of more leisurely activities closer to the town centre. In terms of cultural events, Logan hosts various fairs and festivals, primarily during the summer months of July and August, that include the Utah Festival Opera, the Ellen Eccles Theatre, The Summerfest Arts Faire, a high quality farmers market each Saturday from May through October, various academic and cultural events hosted year round by Utah State University, and the Cache Valley Cruise-In, one of the largest automotive events in the state.Though the charming town of Logan exists off the beat and path, it is accessible to CenturyLink Internet, Telephone, and Prism TV as it lies in proximity to the Salt Lake City media market.
