The Senator tree is over 3000 years old, and is a major tourist attraction near in a nature preserve near Longwood. Development and major population growth in the town didn’t take off until the 1960’s and 1970’s, triggered in part by the growing space industry and the instalment of nearby attractions like Walt Disney World.
