Marion is a small town found in Smith County in the state of Virginia. Marion is also the capital of the County and has a population of less than 6000 residents according to the 2010 census. This includes 2650 households and 1614 families that reside here. The town is named after a famous American War officer during the revolution war—Francis Marion.

The town of Marion (24354-1749) is a popular tourist destination and is officially designated as part of both Virginia Main Street and National Main Street communities. Some of the attractions include the Lincoln Theater, a popular performing arts theater. This theater is the official home of the famous Song of the Mountains. This is a nationally syndicated bluegrass musical program that is filmed here and is currently in its 10th season. Marion is also home to the Francis Marion Boutique Hotel which has recently obtained a complete makeover and received a triple A, Three-Diamond ranking. There is a monthly art program hosted by local artists and is held from the months of May through December.
