Located just 30 miles east of the Seattle metropolitan area, North Bend rests on the doorstep of the Cascade Mountains. The population of North Bend was estimated to be 7,136 in 2018. The small logging town came to renown by being featured in David Lynch’s television series Twin Peaks. The show was set and partially filmed in North Bend. It aired from April in 1990 till June in 1991.

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe were the ancestral inhabitants of the Snoqualmie Prairie, which includes modern day North Bend, Snoqualmie Falls, the upper Snoqualmie Valley, Mount Si, and the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.

The arrival of settlers encouraged by the Homestead Act of 1862, brought the first non-native families to the Snoqualmie Valley. Among the first settlers were founders William Taylor and Jeremiah Borst. What originally began as a small town with a trading post, quickly grew in major logging operation. Notable companies that have facilities in North Bend are Weyerhaeuser, which operated a full-time sawmill at one time, and Nintendo. There are approximately 400 employees working for Nintendo North Bend distribution center.

Chiefly, the town is known for its vast array of hiking, and bicycling trails and paths. In fact, it boosts one of Washington State’s most famous hikes, the Mount Si Trail. Not for casual stroller, the trail features a strenuous 8-mile roundtrip hike, with an elevation gain of 4000 feet!

For those who prefer to relax, The Salish Lodge is also another highlight of this charming town. Located on the Snoqualmie Falls, the view, dining, and spa are renown throughout the state. More than 1.5 million visitors come to the Falls every year. Theyfeature an observation deck and 2-acre park, with a scenic hike to the foot of the falls.
