History
North Salt Lake, UT, gets its name from the small post office near the railroad tracks. The old Utah Highway Patrol Weigh Station was repurposed and set up as the first Town Hall for the City of North Salt Lake. In 1949, the first election here took place, electing Ray Hatch as the Mayor of the City. In 1958, a new municipal building was built on the corner of Main Street and Center Street. This building used to house the then fire department of North Salt Lake, UT. The North Salt Lake City Hall completed its construction in 2010 and supports stunning modern architecture.
