CenturyLink Internet Scottsboro, AL
Scottsboro is a city in Jackson County, Alabama, United States. It is named after its founder Robert T. Scott and is the County seat of Jackson County. Since its incorporation in 1870 till 1890, Scottsboro was the largest community in Jackson County. From 1900 to 1920, it lost the distinction to Bridgeport but has held on since it regained the top spot in 1930.
Scottsboro is located 30 miles from the state boundary of Georgia to the east (Dade County) and a similar distance from Tennessee to the North. On the West, the city is about 45 miles from the nearest town of Huntsville, Alabama, and 55 miles from Chattanooga, Tennessee to the northeast.
As per the census of 2010, Scottsboro had 14,770 people, 6,245 households, and 4,141 families residing in the city. The racial mix was predominantly White accounting for 89.8%. The rest was made up of 4.6% African American, 0.8% Native American, and 0.8% Asian with the rest comprising of Pacific Islander, and other races.
Visitors to Scottsboro have their hands full with tourist attractions. Jackson County has an abundance of limestone caves of which the most famous is the Stephens Gap discovered in 1950. The steep steps and ledges can be quite treacherous in wet weather. Then there is the Neversink Pit, one of the most photographed sinkholes in the world. Across the top, it is 40 feet but the cavity drops to a stomach-churning 162 feet.
But what takes the cake is the Unclaimed Baggage Center that sells unclaimed and undeliverable airline luggage whose owners cannot be located. Prices are low and buyers arrive from across the United States and even from all over the globe.
Scottsboro is a CenturyLink Internet City and is connected to the rest of the country and internationally through high-speed Internet connectivity. Residents and visitors get lightning-fast 1 GBPS download and 2 to 1000 MBPS upload speeds.
