Steamboat Springs is a city located in the state of Colorado, United States. It is a highly populated city and the county seat of Routt County. Steamboat is also home to some famous colleges like Colorado Alpine College and Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs.
History:
The city of Steamboat Springs was founded in 1874 by James Harvey Crawford. In 1900, the city was incorporated and in 1909, the railroad arrived in this city. In 1963, the Steamboat Ski Resort was opened in the city which was established by John Fetcher and Jim Temple. This resort was the biggest ski area in northwestern Colorado. The two famous historical buildings, Christian Science Society and The Crawford House have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
