Tea is one of the popular cities in Lincoln County, located in South Dakota, United States. Located 8.58 miles from Sioux Falls, Tea offers all the facilities you need to live comfortably in a place. The original name of the Tea was Byron. The village was started after a railroad survey line from Yankton to Sioux Falls was built. Afterward, the community decided that it needs a post-office so they sent the application to the postal authorities. The authorities advised that there are several communities known as Byron so they can select 10 short names from which they will choose one. The people of Byron came up with 9 names and unable to think the 10th one. Because it was a German-based community where drinking afternoon tea was a part of tradition and necessity, someone recommended the name ‘Tea’ got finalized. The name was suggested in 1900 and incorporated in 1906.
