Waynesboro is located in Franklin County in the state of Pennsylvania. It is a borough found on the southern border of Pennsylvania, near Hagerstown, Maryland. Waynesboro has a population of about 10,500 according to the census figures of 2010. However, the population of Greater Waynesboro is 28,285 which includes the surrounding townships of Quincy and Washington.

The community around Waynesboro Pennsylvania 17268-8402 has its beginnings around 1749, when a Scotsman named John Wallace, settled here. Wallace purchased the title to 663 acres of land. A town grew here and one of Wallace’s relatives named it Waynesburg, after General Anthony Wayne who was his commanding officer during the war. In 1831, the town was renamed Waynesboro.
