The city of West Jordan is located in the Salt Lake County within the State of Utah, United States. It is a fast growing suburb of the Salt Lake City and is the fourth most populous city in the state of Utah. The city got its name from the nearby Jordan River and the city has its limits beginning from the western bank of the river and the limits end in the eastern foothills of the Oquirrh Mountains. The city is home to the largest man made excavation in the world, the Kennecott Copper Mine.
