Chehalis is a city located in Lewis County, Washington, United States. Chehalis is also the county seat of Lewis County. The total population of the city, according to the United States Census Bureau 2000 was 7,057 and in a census 2010, there were 7,259 people in the town.The Chehalis River winds its way through the valley in which the city resides and joined by the Newaukum River, its tributary.
