Eatonville is a town that is located in Pierce County, Washington. It is a rather small town since it had a population of approximately 2758 as of 2010. The town is situated to the south of the city of Seattle.
The Nisqually people were the earliest settlers in this area. One of the renowned leaders of this community, Leschi was born in this area in 1808. Thomas Van Eaton is the town’s Euro-American founder. A legend states that upon his arrival, he found the area good for settlement due to less snow. This was after the Eatonville Lumber Company brought more people to work in the company.
